Broadening access to bikes and water-friendly bike paths to empower youth and build communities

We are building a global network of water cyclists in community hubs around the world.

With each one of our rides, we aim to…
-
Broaden Access
There are two billion bikes in the world, but these are not evenly distributed. Broadening access to bikes - and waterways to ride them - is a starting point for empowering communities.
-
Educate to Empower
Cycling near water can empower. Whether biking for water to reduce the collection burden for women and girls, or biking to water, our youth development programs power learning and create a ripple effect of capacity and community building.
-
Build Communities
By expanding access to bikes - and water-friendly bike paths - to underserved communities, our goal is to help communities build awareness and connections that help them solve their own water challenges.
Creating A Water Cycles Adventure Game
Proceeds from the 2023 Bikes and Blues Festival led to the development of a new interactive game that debuted at the Waterloo-Wellington Children's Groundwater Festival in early June 2024, reaching nearly 5000 primary school students in the Upper Grand River, Ontario ( Canada)
Building Our Community of Water Cyclists Across the Globe
Our 2024 campaign will broaden access to bike-powered learning opportunities for youth, inspiring the next generation of water leaders with a focus on empowering women and girls through a twinning program with initiatives in both Canada and Kenya.
